Mission for Area People has started a Medical Support Fund to help individuals in need of prescriptions or a medical need not covered by Medicaid or insurance.
As of October 1, 2003 the State Medical Program was discontinued. In its place is a program called the Adult Benefit Waiver. Prior to this, there was no “out of pocket” cost to clients. Now clients must pay a $5.00 co-pay for generic prescriptions and $10.00 for non-generic prescriptions.
Mission for Area People has set up a Medical Support Fund to help ease the financial burden low-income individuals are facing with the change in the State Medical Program.
The Mission for Area People Medical Fund is not funded through government grants, but by community donations. You can be a Medical Support Fund Partner by contacting Diana Wright-Stubbs, Director of Ministries at 733-9672 or 733-1792.
